Biography
Susan has been teaching using the Suzuki method for nearly 40 years. She took violin lessons with Agnes Geddes for 3 years and for many more years with Wendy Harbour, a Suzuki teacher who  studied with Doctor Suzuki (in Japan for 6 months). In addition Susan attended Suzuki teachers' courses in Hertfordshire, London and Dartington. She also took lessons with Margaret Merrington, the Suzuki piano teacher in Totnes, Devon. She learnt the cello with George Dyson in Exeter and then with Chris Pascoe, examiner and teacher. She is a qualified school teacher and has a further qualification to teach adults.
Susan ran a group of violin students in Plymouth for 20+ years. It produced many talented violinists and regularly gave concerts in Plymouth theatres, residential homes and featured on local radio & TV programmes. When working in Plymouth, Susan was asked by the Head of the Adult Education Centre in Plymstock, Plymouth to take adult classes. One-third of her students were adults.

In 1997 Susan relocated to Cornwall and was employed by the Cornwall Music Service for 9 years and taught privately. Similar success was repeated, with some students taking music up professionally. During her time with the Music Service Susan was promoted to the third (highest) level of the post-threshold 'upper pay-spine' for classroom teachers.

Susan is CRB checked.
